The plan you are helping implement
Roughly 5,700 lodging, restaurant, retail, and activities and attractions businesses in eastern Placer County assess themselves to fund this work. Placer County collects the money, and it returns to NTCA to run programs that benefit those same businesses.
Who pays the assessment
| Who pays | Rate |
| Lodging in Zone 1, the lakeshore | 2 percent of gross short term room rental revenue |
| Lodging in Zone 2, the mountain resort areas | 1 percent of gross short term room rental revenue |
| Restaurant, retail, activities and attractions | 1 percent of gross revenue, if gross revenue is $150,000 or more |
| Any of the above under $150,000 in gross revenue | Not assessed |
| Nonprofits, internet only sales, wholesale businesses | Not assessed |
| Businesses earning 20 percent or less of revenue from visitors | Not assessed, through the appeals process |
Where the first year’s budget goes
Initial Annual Assessment Budget – $6,500,000

Businesses that believe they have been classified incorrectly can appeal between July 1 and August 31 each year.
