Transportation
Because of the TBID
- TART Connect served over 210,000 riders and 69% of rides were shared rides.
- The Tahoe City Park & Ride program served 15,870 riders this winter, up 60% from the previous season, with 81% of riders giving a top satisfaction rating.
- The North Lake Tahoe Workforce Vanpool program has eliminated over 37,000 vehicle trips and saved over 1 million pounds of CO₂ emissions. Seventeen active vanpools support at least 99 participants.
- Paid parking is returning to Kings Beach with new hourly rates to accommodate short-term parkers.
Addressing traffic congestion and enhancing regional transportation is a major priority of the NTCA. Funds generated through the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program are being reinvested into initiatives designed to help solve our traffic and transportation challenges. For them to work, it will require active use and participation by residents, visitors, and our local workforce. Our cumulative efforts to make use of these and other initiatives being implemented in our community have the potential to make a difference for us all.
