Recent Updates
October-December 2024:
The Workforce Housing Preservation Program has added three new properties, including a second condo unit, to increase its diversity. Currently, there are 13 properties in the program: 10 single-family homes, two condos, and one duplex.
Quarter highlights:
- Three new properties added to the program.
- One “Discover and Discuss” community engagement event was held, which included a table highlighting housing programs and projects. Met with several community members to discuss program guidelines and scenario questions and distributed flyers with program information.
- Four new applications were approved.

July-September 2024:
In total, 12 properties have been added to the Workforce Housing Preservation Program, with a disbursement of $1,357,200 in Deed Restrictions, averaging $113,100 per property.
The WHPP program saw three new properties added over the summer. They ran one lender education webinar and two buyer webinars and had several new applicants added to our qualified list.

- Found a new loan product that could be used by a local business to purchase a property using WHPP as non-owner-occupied.
April-June 2024:
The Board of Supervisors approved the updated program guidelines and loan documents on April 9, 2024, and the program was relaunched in time for the summer homebuying season. Since then, nine applications have been received, seven approved, and one successfully closed in early July.
January-March 2024:
Up to $150,000 is available to Eastern Placer workers looking to buy a home in the North Lake Tahoe region through the Workforce Housing Preservation Program.
