Emergent Grant Cycle

The Emergent Grant Cycle application supports projects/programs that meet ALL of the following criteria: 

• Meets the minimum eligibility requirements. 
• Aligns with one of the priorities of the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work program.
• Demonstrates a clear and compelling need for immediate funding and explains why it cannot wait until the Annual Grant Cycle.
• Addresses an emergent, urgent, or short-term opportunity in the North Lake Tahoe community. 

And one or the other of the following criteria:

A. New projects/programs not previously approved through the TOT-TBID Dollars at Work Program with a maximum funding request of $150,000. New housing projects/programs are an exception to this criteria. NTCA will review all housing projects/programs submitted through the Emergent Grant Cycle.

OR

B. Projects/programs previously approved under the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work Program AND under contract.

• First, email grants@northtahoecommunityalliance.com with your intent to apply and include the following information: 
  • Project/program name
  • Organization name 
  • Name, email address, and phone number of the person applying
  • Summary of project/program (max. 300 words) 
  • Describe how the project/program aligns with the TOT-TBID Dollars At Work priorities.  (Max. 200 words) 
  • Explain why this project/program needs to be funded immediately and cannot wait for funding through the Annual Grant Cycle (max. 200 words).
  • Total request and match amount
  • Projected start date and anticipated completion date 
• After receiving the email, NTCA, Committee Chairs/Vice Chairs, and Placer County staff will review and determine eligibility.
• Then, eligible applicants receive an invitation to apply through Submittable (NTCA’s grant management platform).

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, with funding recommendations typically made within two to three months of submission.

• After receiving your application, the appropriate NTCA committee(s) review it. If your project/program reaches this stage, you will be asked to present to the appropriate NTCA committee(s). 
  • TBID Advisory and Zone 1 Committees meet on the third Tuesday of the Month
  • TOT Advisory Committee meets on the third Thursday of the Month 
• Then, the project will be presented for approval at a board meeting.
  • TBID-funded projects require final approval by the NTCA Board, which meets on the first Wednesday of each month. 
  • TOT-funded projects require recommendation by the NTCA Board and final approval by the Placer County Board of Supervisors. 
• Next, applicants are notified of funding decisions.
• Finally, if awarded funding, grantees will submit quarterly progress reports and a final report for reimbursement.
