The land exchange between the Tahoe City Public Utility District and the California Tahoe Conservancy has been completed, allowing on-site work to commence, and the Tahoe Truckee Unified School District has completed construction of the ADA-compliant sidewalk that connects their property to the project’s shared parking site.
Biologists have conducted surveys on the property to check for nesting migratory birds; a soil restoration expert has been advising on long-term restoration at the site; and, neighborhood outreach has been a priority to foster transparency.
Phase one work will commence in November 2024 and will include BMP installation and tree removal. In 2025, site grading and excavation, utility trenching and installation, and paving and drainage facilities will be completed.
