October-December 2024:
- Partnered with Nevada County staff, creating an ADU FAQ page to help homeowners understand potential property tax impacts.
- Collaborated with Placer County and consulting staff to contribute to developing the Launchpad Program aimed at identifying new financial incentives for ADU construction.
- Hosted a financial webinar, “Unlocking ADU Financing,” in partnership with our loan broker, which provided valuable insights into available financing options.
- Completed 19 intake calls (for a total of 32) to assess homeowner readiness and discuss initial site feasibility, along with two additional consultations (for a total of 4) with their loan broker.
- Received 26 inquiries (for a total of 45) about the ADU Accelerator and 20 completed applications (for a total of 39) for eligibility review.
- Engaged the community through a press release titled “A Tiny Solution for a Big Housing Problem in Tahoe” and a local advertisement campaign in the Sierra Sun. The press release shared the story of a local teacher, highlighting the program’s potential impact and showcasing the individuals who would benefit from new ADUs.
- The “ADU Financial Incentives” survey was released to gather homeowner insights and inform future incentive strategies.

July-September 2024:
- The Tahoe Housing Hub’s ADU Accelerator program officially launched in Fall 2024 and received 19 completed applications for review/screening.
- Additionally, 13 intake calls to assess homeowner readiness and discuss site feasibility have been completed.
- A partnership with an independent loan broker has been established to assist homeowners with ADU financing options and assessment of financial capacity.
- The nonprofit Ivory Innovations has nominated the program for the 2025 Ivory Prize for Housing Affordability. The annual award recognizes “ambitious, feasible, and scalable solutions to housing affordability” and awards a total of $300,000 to winners across Ivory Innovations’ three areas of focus.
Spring 2024:
- The Tahoe Housing Hub recently launched the ADU Accelerator program, modeled after Hello Housing’s successful Hello ADU program. The Tahoe Housing Hub is looking for interested homeowners to join their exclusive beta test group as part of their pilot phase.
- Tahoe Housing Hub CEO Erin Casey was featured on the Truckee Tahoe Radio Community Spotlight in June 2024.
