Lake Tahoe Business Walks

The results of a Lake Tahoe Basin-wide Business Walk Survey coordinated in October 2024 by the nonprofit Tahoe Prosperity Center in collaboration with 15 regional business associations, chambers of commerce, and local government partners are now available. The insights will be used to inform future initiatives and partnerships aimed at addressing the region’s challenges.

Town Center Revitalization Study

The North Tahoe Community Alliance and North Tahoe Chamber have partnered with Downtown Strategies and local stakeholders to create a two-year action plan to revitalize Kings Beach and Tahoe City. Built on community input and market research, the plan focuses on achievable projects that build momentum while supporting long-term vibrancy. Key initiatives include streamlined development pathways, downtown enhancements, event connections, and small-business support.

This work builds on a comprehensive study by the North Tahoe Chamber, which examined commercial opportunities, gaps, and barriers in our town centers. With input from economic vitality committees, Placer Economic Development, Sierra Business Council, and Tahoe Prosperity Center, the study provides a roadmap for attracting businesses that complement the existing landscape. Together, these efforts aim to strengthen economic vitality, encourage collaboration, and create vibrant, welcoming downtowns that benefit residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

Community members are encouraged to join an Action Team, promote positive progress, and support initiatives that create a spark and help build momentum in our community. An action team interest meeting will be held on January 15 at 1:30 p.m. at the North Tahoe Event Center in Kings Beach and on Zoom (Meeting ID: 840 7588 2587 and Passcode: 927945)
