Economic Development

The success of local businesses is the heartbeat of our community. The North Tahoe Chamber is an unwavering advocate for economic development and committed to being a strategic catalyst for the prosperity of the region.

We provide businesses with the essential tools, resources, and investments needed to foster a vibrant and thriving business ecosystem. We are focused on addressing key economic challenges, promoting community-driven design initiatives within our town centers, and helping businesses grow.

Town Center Revitalization Study

The North Tahoe Chamber, in collaboration with several partners and consultants, conducted a study to determine the current commercial opportunities and gaps in our town centers. This allows us to understand what current commercial space is available as well as the barriers to that space. This study also provides us with a template as we look to bring in new businesses that support and complement the current landscape.

After several months of stakeholder feedback, which included economic vitality committee meetings in both Kings Beach and Tahoe City, work with Placer Economic Development, Sierra Business Council, and Tahoe Prosperity Center, the North Tahoe Chamber is ready to send the study to potential consultants.  This study aims to identify short- and medium-term solutions that will enhance our town centers from an economic and viability perspective.
