Workforce Housing
Because of the TBID
$8.9 million in tourism revenue funded workforce housing programs that assisted:
- 252 residents to secure long-term rentals
- 100+ families to afford rent on their existing homes
- 13 families with down payments on home purchases
- 39 homeowners looking to build a workforce ADU
The NTCA is leveraging TOT-TBID Dollars At Work to address the need for workforce housing with short-term, medium-term, and long-term solutions. In the short term, funds are being allocated to programs that can house local workforce members immediately or in the very near term. Medium-term efforts include supporting initiatives to generate new workforce housing options or otherwise serve the unmet needs of the North Lake Tahoe workforce searching for local housing. Long-term, the NTCA is committed to supporting the construction of workforce housing in our community.
